A major New Jersey municipality is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead all aspects of municipal financial management, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, debt administration, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Municipal finance experience (required)
• A current NJ Municipal Finance Officer (MFO) certification (preferred, but not required as long as the candidate is willing to obtain this certification at some point within a reasonable amount of time).

Key Responsibilities

• Direct preparation and administration of the municipal budget
• Oversee annual financial statements, audits, and regulatory reporting
• Manage debt statements, bond issuances, and fund disbursements
• Develop and implement financial policies and accounting procedures
