Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality therapy services that help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and overall functional independence. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, collaborative, and committed to delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic activities, and other skilled physical therapy interventions.
- Monitor and document patient progress, responses to treatment, and functional outcomes.
- Report changes in patient status and collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist to modify treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and strategies to promote independence.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation according to company policies and payer requirements.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Florida.
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred
- Experience in pediatrics, outpatient rehabilitation, or school-based therapy.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques and rehabilitation principles.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Ability to motivate and encourage patients throughout their rehabilitation.
- Effective time management and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR).
