FunctionThe Lighting Programming and Commissioning Technician is responsible for overseeing the success of individual lighting projects by ensuring the lighting system is fully functional, safe, and aligned with design intent before use. Primary responsibilities include project lighting system programming and system setup including networking configurations. As well as in-shop or onsite lighting equipment support, system testing, and vetting. This role reports to the Engineering Manager. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the overall expectations, timeline, and scope of work of lighting projectsRead and interpret CSI and architectural and engineering drawingsLearn and apply CSI lighting installation and technical standardsProgram lighting control systems, consoles, and devices to meet creative and technical specifications. Configure and test lighting systems to ensure seamless operation and high-quality output. Assist in lighting system design, including control layouts, patching, cue structures, and protocol planningConfigure lighting IT networks when needed for installed lighting systemsSubmit required End of Day update reports to the appropriate management teamPerform troubleshooting and service for installed lighting systemsTrain end users on installed lighting systemsProvide customer service with end-users while on job sites and link them with CSI sales or engineering when necessaryDocument technical changes or modifications to any installed lighting systemProvide product related support and guidance as neededSkill/Experience Requirements At least three (3) years field installation experience ORAt least three (3) years lighting programming, configuration and commissioning experienceAdvanced knowledge of ETC, Color Kinetic control SystemsStrong understanding of control protocols such as DMX, sACN, ArtNet, RDM, and other protocols.Knowledge of electrical systems and safetyHigh School diploma or equivalent Certifications are a plusPhysical Working ConditionsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbsWork at heights on ladders, lifts and stage gridsPhysical ability to walk, crawl and work in difficult positions and areas
