Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Under general guidance, assists in the acceptance of incoming material and provides confirmation or accuracy of shipment by verifying and recording information noted on the shipping documents such as bills of lading, invoices, or purchase orders. Routes material/items and supporting documents to appropriate departments. Packs processed material for shipment to customer.
2. May provide for the preparation of standard shipping documents and utilizing of approved/regular transportation companies. May also be required to provide data input on received and shipped material for inventory, production control, and invoicing purposes. Operates power industrial trucks. Refers or obtains specific directions from senior level Shipper/Receiver or supervisor for more complex shipments.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hand to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
