Lead 4K Teacher (South Carolina First Steps 4K)

C.A.R.E. Academy is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and dependable Lead 4K Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for preparing children for kindergarten through developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning experiences while building strong relationships with families and colleagues.

This position is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality preschool program that aligns with South Carolina First Steps 4K requirements and promotes children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques to promote student engagement and behavior
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special needs or learning challenges
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance curriculum materials
• Provide individualized attention and support to students as needed
• Foster a love of learning through creative and engaging activities
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and progress

Required:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of preschool teaching experience.
• Experience leading a classroom of 4-year-old children.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass all required state and federal background screenings.

Preferred:

• South Carolina First Steps 4K experience.
• Experience with Creative Curriculum.
• Experience using Teaching Strategies GOLD.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

• Create and maintain a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with South Carolina Early Learning Standards.
• Utilize Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD for assessment and documentation.
• Monitor each child's developmental progress and maintain accurate records.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
• Maintain compliance with DSS licensing regulations, ABC Quality standards, and First Steps 4K requirements.
• Supervise children at all times while ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding children's progress and classroom activities.
