Join our team and help move our communities and country forward. SummaryThe Plant Maintenance Technician will focus on plant equipment and property maintenance. At times, and as needed, this position will also serve as a plant operator and truck loader. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform plant maintenance duties, including:Performing highly diversified duties to maintain the plant equipmentGeneral preventative maintenance of pump and valve systemsProviding emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine servicePerforming maintenance duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinesReading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceDiagnosing problems, replacing, or repairing parts, testing, and making adjustmentsUsing a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing dutiesDetecting faulty operations and reporting those and any unusual situations to proper supervisionComplying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areasPerform plant operator duties as needed includingOpen and close valves for production transfersEquipment operationsPeriodic inspection of tanksWeigh-in trucks, pre- and post-loadingLoad emulsion trucksGeneral laborResponsible for maintaining a safe work environmentAll other duties as assignedSkills and Education Required High school diploma/GED and completion of a trade program, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experienceProficient in Microsoft Office ProductsWell-established organizational skills with strong attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be highly motivated and able to work independentlyMust be willing and able to perform plant operator and maintenance duties Preferred4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong mechanical and industrial skills experience Job RequirementsAbility to work in a team environment with laboratory and other plant personnel, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervisionMust be able to work overtime as neededWillingness to be flexible in schedulingAbility to safely lift at least 50 pounds, work on elevated platforms, occasionally enter confined spaces, and tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalt operationAbility to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingersAbility to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standingAbility to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterityBenefits Our comprehensive benefits package includes: Competitive pay401(k) matching & profit sharingHealth, Dental, Vision, and Life InsuranceShort- and Long-Term Disability PlansAdditional voluntary benefitsPaid holidays, vacation, and sick leaveTuition assistanceWork EnvironmentThis position requires its responsibilities to be performed in an asphalt emulsions manufacturing plant. Plants are outdoors and may require that work be done in adverse weather conditions. Work conditions may involve exposure to hot materials, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
