Crew Member – Hot Chix
Location: Walled Lake, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Benefits: PTO, Health, Dental, and Vision.
About the Role
Hot Chix is looking for dependable, energetic Crew Members to join our team.
Crew Members are responsible for preparing food, serving customers, maintaining a clean kitchen, and helping the team deliver fast and consistent service.
This is a hands-on restaurant position. Team members may work different stations throughout the shift and are expected to maintain high standards for food quality, speed, cleanliness, and food safety.
No previous restaurant experience is required for the right candidate. We are looking for people who are dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare Hot Chix menu items according to company recipes and procedures.
- Follow proper portion sizes and product specifications.
- Work assigned kitchen stations including preparation, cooking, assembly, and other positions as trained.
- Maintain appropriate product levels during the shift.
- Follow established cook times, temperatures, and preparation procedures.
- Ensure food is prepared consistently and presented according to company standards.
- Immediately communicate product or preparation issues to the manager on duty.
Customer Service & Order Accuracy
- Provide friendly and professional service to customers.
- Prepare and assemble orders accurately.
- Verify orders before they are completed or handed to customers.
- Maintain urgency during busy periods while protecting food quality.
- Respond professionally when customers have questions or concerns.
- Ask a manager for assistance when a customer issue requires additional support.
Food Quality
- Follow Hot Chix recipes and preparation standards every time.
- Maintain proper portions and presentation.
- Do not serve food that does not meet company quality standards.
- Notify the manager on duty of quality concerns.
- Handle and prepare products carefully to reduce unnecessary waste.
Food Safety
- Follow all company food-safety and sanitation procedures.
- Wash hands and use gloves as required.
- Prevent cross-contamination.
- Follow proper food storage, labeling, dating, and rotation procedures.
- Maintain required product temperatures.
- Complete food-safety tasks or documentation when assigned.
- Immediately communicate food-safety concerns to management.
Kitchen Cleanliness
- Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.
- Clean cooking equipment, prep surfaces, utensils, dishes, sinks, floors, storage areas, and other kitchen areas as assigned.
- Address spills and sanitation concerns immediately.
- Properly dispose of trash and waste.
- Complete assigned opening, shift, and closing cleaning responsibilities.
- Help maintain an inspection-ready kitchen at all times.
Cleaning is part of every Crew Member's responsibilities and is performed throughout the shift.
Speed & Teamwork
- Work with urgency while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Communicate effectively with other team members.
- Maintain awareness of incoming orders and production needs.
- Move between stations when directed by the manager on duty.
- Help teammates during high-volume periods.
- Follow direction from Assistant Kitchen Managers and the Kitchen Manager.
- Remain productive during slower business periods by completing prep, stocking, cleaning, or other assigned work.
Inventory & Stocking
- Maintain appropriate product and packaging levels at assigned stations.
- Restock food, sauces, packaging, and supplies as needed.
- Follow product rotation procedures.
- Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries when assigned.
- Keep food and supply storage areas clean and organized.
- Notify management when products or supplies are running low.

We are willing to train candidates who demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
Schedule & Availability
Full-time and part-time positions may be available.
Crew Members may be scheduled for morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs.
Applicants should provide accurate availability during the hiring process. Reliable attendance is essential to operating a successful kitchen.
Physical Requirements
This is an active kitchen position that may require:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and movement.
- Working around hot cooking equipment.
- Working in refrigerated or freezer areas for short periods.
- Lifting and carrying up to [50] pounds.
- Performing food preparation and cleaning tasks.
- Working in a fast-paced environment during high-volume periods.
