Commercial Plumbing Operations Manager

$100,000–$130,000 + Performance Bonus
Location: Brea, CA | Semi-Remote
Travel: Southern California & Arizona

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and lead the company’s expansion into Arizona.

This is a leadership position for someone with proven experience managing operations for a $5M–$15M commercial plumbing or mechanical contractor. The ideal candidate understands both field operations and the business side of construction, with a strong track record of leading teams, improving efficiency, and increasing profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily commercial plumbing operations
  • Lead project managers, superintendents, foremen, and office staff
  • Develop and launch the Arizona Division
  • Recruit and build field and operations teams
  • Manage manpower planning and scheduling
  • Monitor labor productivity and job profitability
  • Review contracts, RFIs, submittals, budgets, and change orders
  • Improve operational systems and processes
  • Maintain relationships with general contractors and owners
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
  • Travel throughout Southern California and Arizona as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10–15 years of commercial plumbing or mechanical contracting experience
  • Leadership experience with a $5M–$15M contractor
  • Experience managing multiple commercial construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems
  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, job costing, and profitability
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience opening or managing a new branch
  • Experience scaling a commercial contractor
  • Southern California commercial construction experience
  • Arizona construction experience
