Position Summary


The Wood Finisher is responsible for preparing, staining, and finishing wood components used in the production process. This individual will ensure each piece meets strict quality standards while maintaining consistency in color, sheen, and overall appearance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare wood surfaces through sanding, filling, and other surface preparation techniques.
  • Mix and apply stains, glazes, sealers, lacquers, and protective topcoats.
  • Perform specialty finishing techniques including layered stains, cerused finishes, wire-brushed textures, distressing, and other custom applications.
  • Maintain consistency in color, sheen, and finish quality.
  • Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups or corrections as needed.
  • Follow production schedules and daily priorities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Install finished wood components when required.
  • Communicate quality concerns and production issues to leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional wood finishing experience.
  • Experience working with stains, paints, sealers, lacquers, and specialty finishing techniques.
  • Background in woodworking, cabinetry, millwork, architectural wood products, manufacturing, or a related industry preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
