We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a healthcare organization in New York, New York in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role is suited for a payroll specialist who can manage complex, high-volume payroll operations with accuracy, discretion, and a strong understanding of multi-state requirements. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with end-to-end payroll processing and confidence working within ADP platforms to support a large employee population.
Responsibilities:
• Administer end-to-end payroll processing for a large employee base, ensuring timely and accurate completion of each payroll cycle.
• Manage payroll activities across multiple states while maintaining compliance with applicable wage, tax, and labor regulations.
• Use ADP Workforce Now and ADP Enterprise to enter, validate, and reconcile payroll data for ongoing processing needs.
• Review payroll records for discrepancies, resolve exceptions, and make corrections before final submission.
• Maintain payroll-related documentation and support reporting needs for audits, internal reviews, and leadership requests.
• Coordinate with human resources, finance, and other internal partners to address payroll updates, employee changes, and related inquiries.
• Monitor deductions, earnings, garnishments, and tax withholdings to ensure proper calculation and application.
• Assist with payroll system-related updates or process adjustments as needed to support operational continuity.• At least 5 years of experience handling payroll in a detail-oriented setting.
• Demonstrated success processing full-cycle payroll from data review through final distribution and reconciliation.
• Experience managing payroll for employees working in multiple states.
• Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and ADP Enterprise.
• Background supporting payroll volumes exceeding 500 employees.
• Solid understanding of payroll compliance, tax practices, and recordkeeping standards.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
