Experienced Administrative/Clinical Medical Assistant needed

We are seeking an experienced, multi-skilled Medical Assistant to join our busy OB/GYN practice in a hybrid administrative and clinical role. This position will primarily support front office operations while also providing clinical assistance in the back office as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The ability to multitask while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and exceptional customer service is essential.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments.
• Collect copayments and process patient payments accurately.
• Manage provider schedules, coordinate patient appointments, and assist with daily patient flow.
• Maintain accurate patient records and complete filing and documentation promptly.
• Welcome and assist patients with professionalism, compassion, and exceptional customer service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
• Demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette and effective communication skills when interacting with patients, providers, and outside offices.
• Provide clinical support to providers as needed, including performing Medical Assistant duties consistent with the needs of the practice.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or as needed to support the overall operations of the practice.
• Previous experience working in an OB/GYN practice is required.
• Proficiency with athenahealth (Athena EMR) is required.
• Possess excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
