Small Animal Veterinarian

Nonprofit high-quality high-volume (HQHV) spay/neuter clinic is seeking a vet who is excited about making a significant impact in a fast-growing community drowning in homeless cats and dogs. Our goal is to find ways to remove barriers to spay/neuter.

Clinic opening date is Sept. 15, 2026.

Requirements include:

 Examine animals pre-operatively to determine their ability to withstand surgery.

 Perform surgical sterilizations.

 Examine animals post-operatively to ensure appropriate healing.

 Supervise handling and recording of controlled substances by veterinary

technicians.

 Supervise post-operative recheck.

 Experience with high-volume spay/neuter is a big plus.

 Veterinary license with minimum two years experience

Partnership for Animals in Athens/Limestone (PAALS)

PAALS, a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit, consists of volunteers from Athens, Huntsville, Madison, and Decatur, all working together to tackle the issue of homeless animals in Limestone County and neighboring areas.

Partnership for Animals in Athens/Limestone (PAALS) will promote the health, safety and well-being of dogs and cats in Limestone County and surrounding areas, focusing on low-cost spay/neuter, homeless animals, and innovative outreach programs.
