Job Summary:
Holmes Building Services is seeking a highly motivated, dependable, and skilled Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will perform a variety of carpentry tasks, including framing, installation, and finish work, across residential and commercial projects. Most work will take place in educational, healthcare, retail, industrial, and healthcare environments.


Key Responsibilities:



Construction & Carpentry:


%CF; Perform carpentry tasks including framing and installation of doors, windows, and storefronts.


%CF; Interpret blueprints, instructions and construction plans to meet project specifications.


%CF; Work with a variety of materials including wood, aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, and FRP.


%CF; Apply techniques in controlled demolition, DFH installation, steel and wood framing, drywall, drywall finishing, painting, welding, glazing, and caulking.


%CF; Ensure high-quality workmanship on every project.




Safety & Compliance:


%CF; Adhere to all safety protocols and on-site regulations.


%CF; Ensure work complies with building codes and industry standards.




Collaboration & Communication:


%CF; Coordinate closely with team members and subcontractors.


%CF; Communicate daily progress, needs, and challenges to Supervisor and Production Manager.


%CF; Represent the company professionally with clients, customers, vendors, and contractors.




Tools & Equipment:


%CF; Must supply your own hand and small power tools.


%CF; Maintain a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license for travel to job sites.




Qualifications:


%CF; High school diploma or equivalent.


%CF; Proven carpentry experience in residential and commercial construction.


%CF; Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, instructions and construction plans.


%CF; Skilled in carpentry techniques, tools, and material handling.

%CF; Experience with commercial doors, frames and hardware is preferred.


%CF; Accurate measurement, cutting, and assembly skills.


%CF; Physically capable of lifting building materials and standing for extended periods.


%CF; Punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented.


%CF; Must pass drug and alcohol testing, Pennsylvania State Police, FBI fingerprint background check, and Child Abuse Clearances.

%CF; Ability to pass a DOT Physical and able to drive <26,000 box truck is preferred.




Schedule & Compensation:


%CF; Full-time, Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm; occasional weekends and night shift, some travel may be required.


%CF; Excellent compensation package commensurate with experience with paid holidays and vacation benefits after 90 days.

%CF; Regular prevailing wage projects and shift differentials for off shift work.
