Direct Support Professional DSP

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting their independence, ensuring their safety, and enhancing their overall well-being in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene needs
• Monitor health and report changes to healthcare providers
• Support clients in daily living activities to promote independence
• Provide behavioral support tailored to individual client needs
• Facilitate recreational and social activities to encourage engagement
• Maintain accurate documentation and client records
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members
• Ensure client safety through vigilant supervision
• Provide transportation support as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in direct support roles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Skills in patient care and communication
• Strong empathy and conflict resolution abilities
• Proven teamwork capabilities
