Kitchen Helper / Brunch Prep Assistant
Join our growing team at LUMA, a relaxed coastal-style café serving fresh brunch, breakfast, sandwiches, crepes, healthy bowls, and specialty dishes in a welcoming environment. Our menu features items like avocado toast, breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, crepes, sandwiches, and healthy bowls.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Kitchen Helper to assist with morning kitchen operations, food prep, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment and wants to grow with a small but expanding business.
Schedule
- Morning shifts required
- Must be available Saturdays and Sundays
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays off
- Full time
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and portioning items
- Support the kitchen team during breakfast and brunch service
- Prepare simple menu items under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, refrigerators, and prep areas
- Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and follow food safety procedures
- Restock ingredients and supplies throughout shifts
- Assist with plating and presentation to maintain food quality and consistency
- Help with opening kitchen setup and morning prep routines
- Support smooth daily kitchen operations in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous kitchen, café, brunch, or food service experience preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knife skills and understanding of food prep
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy hours
- Willingness to learn and grow within the company
- Understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards
