Academic Opportunities in Private Practice 90 Miles from Chicago - South Bend, Indiana
Our organization is in search of Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrists to deliver both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric services for children and adolescents. Our services for adults and children/adolescents encompass psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, ECT, TMS, and Ketamine infusions. Inpatient on-call duties are shared among all psychiatrists, with support from Advanced Practice Clinicians at both inpatient and outpatient facilities. Elkhart General features a 12-bed inpatient unit, while Memorial Epworth includes a 12-bed adolescent unit, a 12-bed adult acute unit, and a 21-bed depression unit.
The practice involves outpatient services along with inpatient admissions and consultations at Memorial Epworth Hospital and Elkhart General Hospital. An academic appointment at the Indiana University School of Medicine is available, allowing for teaching of the core psychiatry curriculum and supervision of third-year medical students. The group is also engaged in published and funded clinical research.
South Bend boasts several colleges, including the prestigious University of Notre Dame and Indiana University, offering a variety of athletic and cultural events. This "Big-Small-Town" atmosphere is home to the South Bend Cubs (a Class-A minor league baseball team), the Studebaker Museum, the South Bend Civic Theatre, the Snite Museum, and the Century Center Art Gallery. Live entertainment is easily accessible through venues like the Morris Performing Arts Center in South Bend and the Lerner Theatre in Elkhart.
