Hourly Compensation: $37.00 - $43.50, depending on experience, with an additional $2.75 per hour for night shifts.

Work Schedule: Full-time nights from 6 PM to 6 AM; 72 hours per pay period.

The Registered Nurse will employ the nursing process to plan and deliver direct care to assigned residents. Responsibilities include organizing and executing shift routines within the designated nursing unit, overseeing and evaluating the activities of staff as the designated leader, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. The nurse may also take on “Building Charge” duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or their designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ongoing maintenance of required continuing education units (CEUs).
  • Experience in long-term care is preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Customer service-oriented with knowledge of best practices.
  • Clinical proficiency in conducting physical and cognitive assessments of residents.
  • Competence in using computers and electronic devices for documentation and timekeeping.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Understanding of current guidelines on Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention, and OSHA regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leadership and Direction:
    • Exemplify positive communication with nursing assistants, interdisciplinary teams, and families.
    • Maintain open communication with supervisors and colleagues during shift changes.
    • Conduct rounds to assess residents' physical and emotional well-being.
    • Delegate tasks to staff to meet resident needs effectively.
    • Ensure staff adherence to their assigned duties.
    • Participate in scheduled nursing and team meetings.
    • Initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
    • Report any occupational exposures according to facility policies.
    • Present concerns and suggestions for improvement to leadership.
  • Resident Care:
    • Maintain proficiency in all required skills.
    • Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
    • Report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately.
    • Administer nursing techniques to enhance resident comfort.
    • Dispense medications and treatments as prescribed.
    • Monitor and report resident responses to medications.
    • Document all required information accurately and promptly.
    • Follow established protocols for vital signs and medication administration.
    • Communicate changes in resident conditions to healthcare providers.
    • Keep families informed about resident status.
    • Adhere to emergency protocols as needed.
    • Follow all Advance Directives and care protocols.
  • Documentation and Assessment:
    • Contribute to the development and updating of care plans.
    • Evaluate and report on the performance of supervised personnel.
    • Complete routine charting in accordance with policies.
    • Accurately transcribe physician orders and relay necessary information.
    • Document all incidents involving residents, visitors, and staff.
    • Maintain thorough and informative nursing notes.
    • Conduct ongoing assessments as required and document accordingly.
  • Personnel Responsibilities:
    • Attend scheduled nursing meetings.
    • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
    • Fulfill continuing education requirements.
    • Participate in employee evaluations and staffing discussions.
    • Foster positive inter-departmental relationships.
    • Complete required training and online modules.
  • Committee Participation:
    • Engage in various committees and meetings to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Other duties as assigned.
