Our organization is in search of a dynamic and passionate leader to take on the role of Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology. As part of a prominent academic health sciences center and Level 1 trauma facility in northeastern New York, this position offers a unique opportunity to revitalize the department while delivering comprehensive care through the Digestive Disease Center across the Capital Region.

The Gastroenterology division is responsible for a Fellowship training program that accommodates 9 fellows and boasts specialized faculty expertise in:

  • Hepatology
  • Motility disorders
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Pancreaticobiliary disease
  • Advanced endoscopy

As the Chief, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing clinical operations and overseeing the education of fellows in a high-demand gastroenterology program
  • Providing care to a diverse patient population with complex medical conditions
  • Collaborating with skilled physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure exceptional patient care

Required qualifications include:

  • MD or DO with board certification in Gastroenterology
  • Interest or experience in developing a clinical subspecialty
  • Leadership, education, and program development experience or interest
  • Eligibility for an academic appointment at the associate professor or professor level
  • Clinical research experience is highly preferred

Compensation and Professional Development:

  • Attractive compensation package, which includes salary, comprehensive benefits, and retirement options.
  • Salary range (as mandated in New York State): $500,000-$575,000
