Job Description

Chief of Obstetrics & Gynecology

Our Organization, Brockton, MA

Our organization is on the lookout for an innovative and proactive physician leader to take on the role of Chief of Obstetrics & Gynecology during a pivotal phase of growth and opportunity. OB/GYN services are a fundamental strategic focus, with a strong commitment to enhancing our position as a premier provider of maternity and OB/GYN care in the region. With a solid clinical foundation, a dedicated team, and a significant community presence, this role offers an excellent platform for the new Chief to build upon.

The Opportunity

This position is ideal for a leader who thrives on the chance to develop, align, and elevate a robust OB/GYN program. The Chief of OB/GYN will have the chance to establish and promote a clear, forward-thinking vision for OB/GYN and maternity services, nurturing a collaborative environment that encourages consistency, accountability, and high performance. Key responsibilities will include enhancing patient experiences, differentiating care delivery in a competitive landscape, strengthening integration across outpatient practices and labor and delivery operations, and optimizing the provider model through strategic recruitment and team development. This role operates within a dyad leadership framework alongside the Service Line Administrator, combining strategic oversight, operational responsibility, and active clinical involvement.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess progressive leadership experience in the OB/GYN specialty, along with a proven track record of leading or influencing physicians and advanced practice providers within a complex clinical setting, community health system, or integrated delivery network. Experience in enhancing patient satisfaction, access, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, as well as familiarity with risk-based or value-based care environments, is advantageous. Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and be eligible for, or currently hold, an unrestricted medical license in Massachusetts.

The Organization

Our organization is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system that offers a comprehensive range of services to patients of all ages throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. The system includes the award-winning Brockton Hospital, a multi-specialty physician group with over 150 physicians practicing across 15 locations, and a nursing school. The OB/GYN department currently manages between 1,300 and 1,500 deliveries annually, supported by a team of 16 OB/GYN providers, and is actively expanding to meet community needs.

The Location

Brockton, Massachusetts is situated roughly 20 miles south of Boston, 40 miles northeast of Providence, 40 miles west of Cape Cod, and 200 miles northeast of New York City. As the center of a densely populated area, Brockton features a diverse mix of urban, suburban, and rural communities. Often referred to as the "Metro South" region of Massachusetts, this area is one of the state's fastest-growing regions, offering the cultural and corporate benefits of the city alongside the natural beauty and tranquility of historic New England. Metro South is conveniently located with easy access to Boston's airport, seaport, and intermodal facilities.
