The Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics at our organization is actively seeking a Clinical Geneticist. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for professional development and advancement within a well-regarded medical genetics program.

The chosen candidate will engage in clinical, research, and educational initiatives within the Division, collaborating with various specialties in the pediatrics department and the OB/GYN-Maternal Fetal Medicine department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants for this position should possess an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and must be board certified or eligible in Clinical Genetics. Experience or board certification in clinical molecular genetics is advantageous.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Engagement in a wide range of clinical activities, including care for adult and pediatric patients in General Genetics/Dysmorphology, Prenatal Genetics, Cancer Genetics, pharmacogenetics, Inborn Errors of Metabolism, and the Newborn Screening Follow-up program.
  • Conducting inpatient hospital consultations and managing outpatient clinics.
  • Receiving clinical support from the division chief, a clinical geneticist/cytogeneticist, and our Medical Genetics Faculty, which includes a Medical Biochemical Geneticist specializing in Metabolic Disorders, four Genetic Counselors, a Genetic Nurse Practitioner, a Genetic Physician Assistant, a Genetic Registered Nurse, and a dietitian.

COMPENSATION:

Attractive salary and comprehensive benefits
This is a full-time position offering a competitive compensation package along with a sign-on bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, relocation assistance, a retirement plan, and malpractice insurance.

  • Base salary ranges from $180,000 to $250,000 annually, depending on experience and training.
  • Compensation for faculty at higher ranks will be discussed based on experience.

This position will be a tenured faculty appointment at a rank that reflects the candidate's experience, with a strong commitment to enhancing faculty diversity and the graduate student population.

The start date for this role is dependent on obtaining a valid medical license in New York State.
