Interventional Radiologist
Job Description
Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Interventional Radiologist to become a part of our dedicated team within the Department of Radiology.
The Interventional Radiology Division operates as a vital section of our Radiology Department, offering a comprehensive array of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions that cater to various clinical conditions and age groups. This dynamic practice collaborates closely with vascular surgery to address vascular diseases through a wide range of interventional radiology services.
Currently, our division is comprised of nine board-certified interventional radiologists and provides care across six hospitals, which include two Level 1 trauma centers, a specialized pediatric hospital, a bustling community hospital, a surgical center for both outpatient and short-term inpatient procedures, and East Campus for extended admissions. The main facility, our state-of-the-art medical center, opened in 2021 and is recognized as the top hospital in the Inland Empire. Nestled in the scenic foothills of Loma Linda, California, our division serves as a tertiary referral center for surrounding hospitals, managing some of the most complex patient cases.
As part of our academic institution, this interventional radiology practice is committed to educating ten diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology residents annually, along with numerous medical students participating in clinical and sub-internship rotations, as well as pre-clinical and pre-medical students seeking shadowing opportunities and mentorship. Our organization has a rich history of training exceptional interventional radiologists for over 50 years through its fellowship program, and now through integrated IR/DR and independent IR residency programs.
In our interventional radiology practice, all inpatient procedures necessitate formal consultations with the IR service, while outpatient requests are assessed for either in-person or virtual clinic visits prior to scheduling any procedures. Each day commences with a morning conference at 7:45 AM, where residents present the day's scheduled procedures, discussing indications and approaches with the attending physicians. Typical procedural hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with on-call faculty remaining to complete any outstanding procedures. Call duties are assigned on a daily basis, currently every eighth night and weekend. Faculty members generally receive one academic day off each week. Our salary structure is competitive within the academic sector of the region, and there are opportunities for internal moonlighting.
