Our organization is in search of a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to become part of our team dedicated to serving critical access hospitals. The Emergency Medicine Physician will be tasked with assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals who arrive with urgent and emergent medical issues in the emergency department. The ideal candidate should be flexible, a team player, and dedicated to providing compassionate and efficient care in a critical access setting.

Our critical access hospitals are situated in the following locations:

  • Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital & Clinics - Boscobel, WI
  • Gundersen Moundview Hospital & Clinics - Friendship, WI
  • Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital & Clinics - West Union, IA
  • Gundersen St. Elizabeth's Hospital & Clinics - Wabasha, MN
  • Gundersen St. Joseph's Hospital & Clinics - Hillsboro, WI
  • Gundersen Tri-County Hospital & Clinics - Whitehall, WI

Physicians have the flexibility to practice across these locations, with the option to work at some or all sites depending on scheduling preferences and organizational requirements.

Experience in emergency medicine, rural healthcare, or critical access hospitals is advantageous. Shifts typically range from 12 to 24 hours in rural emergency rooms.

Applicants must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program and be board certified or eligible in the specified medical field. Additionally, candidates must possess or be able to acquire a license to practice in our multi-state region without restrictions. Medical staff within our system will oversee advanced practice clinicians, and may also be required to provide outreach services as part of their responsibilities. Teaching students, residents, fellows, or clinical staff is fundamental to our Medical Education philosophy and is expected of all medical personnel.
