The Radiology Department at our Medical Center is actively searching for a dedicated Academic Radiologist with a focus on Musculoskeletal Imaging and General Radiology, welcoming candidates at any career stage. Role Overview
Collaborate with the MSK section chief and residents/fellows in the MSK section.
Interpret MSK MR and CT scans (excluding spine).
Concentrate on bone/joint and spine X-rays, with a greater emphasis on bone/joint X-rays.
Perform up to 2 MSK procedures daily (fluoro-guided joint injections/aspirations, arthrograms).
US-guided MSK procedural skills are welcome but not mandatory.
Limited interpretation of MSK/soft tissue ultrasound.
Engage in teaching radiology residents and fellows.
Encouraged participation in research and quality improvement projects, typically supervising medical students, residents, and fellows.
Weekend on-call responsibilities (Plain Film, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) are remote, with home workstations provided for each radiologist.
Opportunities for voluntary internal moonlighting (e.g., extra weekend calls) are available for those interested in additional income.
Engage in multidisciplinary and educational conferences.
While full-time onsite work is preferred, we can accommodate requests for partial remote work based on individual circumstances.
Incentives for academic productivity, teaching contributions, and clinical work are available and paid annually during the performance review with the Chair.
Academic time will be allocated based on educational and research needs.
Administrative time will be provided for those in leadership roles.
Our Medical Center is a Level-1 Trauma Center located in downtown Boston and serves as the academic flagship of our healthcare network, which includes community healthcare practices. We also serve as the clinical faculty for the ACGME Diagnostic Radiology and Fellowship programs at the affiliated medical school.
Academic Rank
Positions available include Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Radiology at the affiliated medical school, based on academic achievements. Exceptional candidates may be considered for accelerated promotion to a higher academic rank by the department Chair.
Leadership Opportunities
Qualified candidates interested in leadership roles may discuss the possibility of becoming the MSK Section Chief during the application and interview process. Additional leadership positions in medical student education, residency and fellowship training, and administrative roles may also be available, depending on career stage and aspirations.
Facilities and Equipment
Advanced Phillips 7700 3.0 Tesla MRI with ultrafast MR imaging supported by AI reconstructions, along with an additional 3.0 Tesla magnet and a new 1.5 Tesla MR (all Phillips).
Two dual-source, dual-energy Siemens Force CT scanners.
One AS 64 CT scanner equipped with an IR guidance package.
Eight new GE E10 ultrasound machines.
Requirements
Applicants must possess an MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent degree.
Board eligibility or certification from the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Osteopathic Board of Radiology (AOBR).
Candidates should have completed or be in the process of completing an MSK radiology fellowship at the time of application.
Medical licensure or eligibility in Massachusetts is required.

The salary range for this position is between $440,000.00 and $535,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and will consider various factors, including relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
