Job Opportunity: Geriatric or Neuropsychiatrist

Our organization is on the lookout for a fellowship-trained and board-certified Geriatric or Neuropsychiatrist, who also possesses training and experience in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). This role is within a tertiary academic practice that caters to both rural and urban populations. We welcome candidates whose professional journey reflects a strong interest and expertise in addressing the complex psychiatric needs of seniors. Preference will be given to those whose ECT credentials stem from completing an Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACGME) ECT training program. Ideal candidates will be exceptional clinician-educators dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults and their families, and eager to collaborate with a team of like-minded professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct evaluations and provide treatment for older adult patients facing a variety of complex psychiatric conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with primary care and specialty care providers using a shared electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Engage with a multidisciplinary clinical team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
  • Participate in the care continuum that includes a 100-bed hospital and a dedicated 21-bed geriatric/neuropsychiatry inpatient program.
  • Administer electroconvulsive therapy to both inpatients and outpatients across various locations.
Teaching and Mentorship

Our division serves as a significant educational resource, training and mentoring Psychiatry residents, Geriatric Medicine fellows, medical students from Tufts University School of Medicine, as well as Social Work and Psychology interns. We foster a culture of continuous quality improvement, consistently achieving excellent performance in safety, quality, and patient satisfaction. Physicians are encouraged to seek faculty appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine.
