Job Description
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at our organization has a rich history of pioneering advancements in women's reproductive health. We are known for developing the Apgar score, the first institution in the nation to conduct an amniocentesis, and for creating RhoGAM, which has nearly eliminated Rh-incompatibility reactions that previously led to numerous fetal and neonatal fatalities and health issues annually.
Situated within the vibrant medical community of CUIMC, our team comprises over 100 physicians and more than 40 post-graduate residents and fellows. Together, we collaborate with researchers and clinicians to address the healthcare needs of women. Our commitment remains steadfast in delivering exceptional patient care, training the next generation of Ob/Gyn leaders, supporting innovative research, and integrating these advancements into clinical practice.
Job Responsibilities:We are looking for a faculty member in Obstetrics and Gynecology to join the Allen Hospital Division. We invite applications from full-time board-certified or board-eligible candidates to engage in the clinical and academic activities of our vibrant Department. Multiple openings are available.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing inpatient and outpatient care
- Practicing general obstetrics and gynecology
- Performing gynecologic surgeries
The ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong dedication to clinical care, research, and the education of residents and medical students. They will be tasked with delivering high-quality care at community health centers affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital in the Washington Heights & Inwood areas. This role offers substantial opportunities for leadership and professional growth.
Minimum Qualifications:- Medical Degree from an accredited institution
- Valid New York Medical License
- Board Eligible or Board Certified status
- Dedication to our organization and the communities we serve
- Interest in participating in community-based healthcare
- Commitment to evidence-based practices and quality improvement
- Strong communication skills, excellent bedside manner, and organizational abilities
- Passion for medical education, including teaching residents, medical students, and nursing students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals (RN, CNM, NP) and specialties
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
