Our organization is on the lookout for a Rheumatologist to become part of our Internal Medicine team.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for individuals dedicated to academic medicine who are eager to engage in teaching and research. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a busy consultation service at our medical center and outpatient clinics.
  • Providing both outpatient and inpatient care at the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
  • Collaborating with a supportive team, including nurse practitioners and administrative staff for prior authorizations.
  • Participating in shared inpatient services among physicians, with plans to expand our division to lessen call burdens.
Faculty Development and Wellness

Our Rheumatology Division currently consists of 5.5 faculty members, with plans to expand to 9 full-time positions. We prioritize faculty development and wellness, offering programs such as:

  • Financial planning for physicians
  • Positive psychology workshops
  • Clinical trial involvement
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion training
  • Various wellness activities, including yoga and art classes

Additionally, our medical school provides free CME courses to assist faculty in their professional growth.

Fellowship and Research Opportunities

We host a 2-year fellowship program with three fellows annually, allowing faculty to engage with residents and students weekly. Our division is involved in clinical trials and various research initiatives, supported by seven specialized centers, including:

  • Center for Arthritis
  • Lupus Center
  • Scleroderma Center
  • Myositis Center
  • Sjogren’s Syndrome Center
  • Vasculitis Center
  • Center for Bone Health and Osteoporosis

We also manage the Fracture Liaison Service and infusion centers at our affiliated hospitals, with ultrasound machines available for various diagnostic procedures.

Community Engagement

Faculty members are encouraged to explore academic opportunities through teaching and research, as well as provide care to underserved populations via partnerships with local health systems. We welcome discussions about these interests during the recruitment process.

Our organization is affiliated with a leading medical center and children's hospital, dedicated to delivering comprehensive care at a high standard. Serving as the largest tertiary referral center in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, we cater to a population of nearly 4 million and are the only Level I Trauma Center in a four-county area. Compensation & Benefits

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $300,000 to $330,000, adjusted based on experience and faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity bonuses, which will be discussed during the recruitment process.
