Are you eager to create a significant difference in the lives of our Veterans? Our organization is looking for a Board-Certified, highly skilled orthopedic surgeon to join our outstanding team at the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS) located in the beautiful city of Phoenix, Arizona.

Your Responsibilities:

As an integral member of our team, you will carry out a variety of orthopedic surgical procedures, which include:

  • Basic fracture stabilization
  • Soft tissue repair
  • Arthroscopy
  • Arthroplasty (with a current emphasis on primary and revision total hip and knee replacements)

Note: An adult joint reconstruction fellowship is highly preferred and will be given additional consideration.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: Competitive pay along with an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off annually (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for CME).
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401k with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.
  • Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal insurance options can be maintained into retirement).
  • CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year.
  • Education Debt Reduction Program: Up to $200,000 in student loan repayment eligibility.*
  • Malpractice: Liability protection with tail coverage at no cost.
  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical or osteopathic program.
  • Licensure: Must possess one full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory, maintaining a current, active, and unrestricted license.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required (non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited in accordance with VA Policy).
