PRN Physiatrist

Our organization is in search of a PRN MD or DO Physiatrist to deliver weekend inpatient coverage for a 20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) department. This position emphasizes providing thorough medical care to rehabilitation patients, which includes rounding, admissions, discharges, and consultative services.

• Deliver in-person medical care for patients in the 20-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
• Conduct weekend rounds on both Saturday and Sunday.
• Perform history and physical examinations for new admissions.
• Complete evaluations and documentation for discharges.
• Provide inpatient rehabilitation consultations as necessary.
• Review and evaluate external referrals for potential admissions through the electronic medical record.
• Manage both acute and chronic medical conditions during the rehabilitation process.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards.

• PRN weekend position.
• In-person coverage is required on both Saturday and Sunday when scheduled.
• Potential for holiday coverage if assigned.
• Expected availability is approximately one weekend per month.

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
• Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
• Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license (or the ability to obtain one).
• Proven clinical experience beyond residency training.
• Previous experience in an inpatient rehabilitation environment.
• Capability to independently manage inpatient rehabilitation patients.
