Job Description
Our organization is in search of a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Neurologist with specialized fellowship training and a keen interest in Headache management to take on the role of Headache Program Director within our Neurology Department. This position entails not only patient care but also the supervision and education of neurology residents and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in the assessment and treatment of patients suffering from refractory headaches. The role is primarily outpatient and will be based at our facility located on the Scarborough Campus, which features on-site MRI and neurodiagnostic laboratories. Additionally, there are opportunities for research supported by the MaineHealth Institute for Research, with dedicated time available through an academic pathway program.
Opportunity Highlights:- Become part of a well-established Neurology Department that includes over 35 sub-specialty trained neurologists in both Adult and Pediatric care, Neurohospitalists, and Advanced Practice Professionals, all supported by a strong clinical and administrative team, which includes an on-site pharmacist, social worker, neuropsychologists, and psychometricians.
- A dedicated team of Neurohospitalists manages hospital admissions, stroke care, telestroke services, and after-hours phone call coverage.
- Inpatient responsibilities are limited to a fair share of daytime coverage on the neurology consult service, approximately four to five weeks each year.
- Engage in teaching opportunities for Neurology residents, fellows from various departments, and medical students.
