Allergist Immunologist

Phoenix Children's
Suncrest Villas West, AZ, US Full Time

Job Description

Job Description

Position Overview

Job Posting Note: Our organization is on the lookout for an Allergist/Immunologist to become a part of the Division of Allergy and Immunology. This role is tailored for a physician specializing in immunology or inborn errors of immunity.

The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of 11 professionals, which includes 7 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers, at our main facility and its satellite locations. We cater to patients not only at the primary hospital but also in the East Valley, Southwest Valley, and Northwest Valley. Given the large population of Phoenix, Arizona, our practice is both busy and expanding. The patient demographic is diverse, addressing a range of issues from common allergic conditions to intricate cases involving allergies and primary immunodeficiencies. Currently, two physicians lead the immunology initiatives, both in inpatient and outpatient settings, which include participation in specialized clinics such as the Immunohematology Multi-disciplinary Clinic and the 22q Multi-disciplinary Clinic. Adding a third physician focused on immunology will help us better serve the needs of patients in Phoenix and its neighboring areas.

Education plays a vital role in this position, as our clinic is involved in training rotating pediatric residents. Additionally, we have partnered with a prominent medical institution for a joint Allergy/Immunology fellowship. Physicians will have the opportunity to work alongside fellows and engage regularly with Allergists/Immunologists through various academic activities, including Grand Rounds, Case Conferences, and Journal Clubs. Faculty appointments are available through the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, and Creighton University School of Medicine.

Moreover, our clinic is actively engaged in clinical and translational research focusing on food allergies, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, asthma, and more. Candidates should have a keen interest in contributing to these research initiatives.

The staff physician will deliver patient care services and uphold our organization's mission of providing hope, healing, and exceptional healthcare for children and their families.
