Complex Pediatric Otolaryngologist
Job Description
Our organization, a physician-owned practice with a legacy spanning over a century, is excited to announce an opening for a fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologist to enhance our comprehensive service offerings.
The role of complex pediatric otolaryngology is vital in the patient care framework at our affiliated children's hospital, which features 160 beds, including a fully equipped NICU and PICU. We address a wide array of conditions, and our aerodigestive team—comprising experts in gastroenterology, pulmonology, genetics, and speech-language pathology—meets regularly to provide coordinated care for the most intricate cases. This children’s hospital is connected to a larger medical center that boasts over 600 additional beds for adult patients and offers level II trauma services to the entire inland northwest region.
While the primary focus of this position is on complex pediatric cases, candidates should also be prepared to engage in routine outpatient pediatric otolaryngology at our Ambulatory Surgery Center, which is part of our main outpatient clinical facility.
Team Composition- Approximately 10 otolaryngologists, including specialists in head and neck/microvascular, rhinology/anterior skull base, and pediatrics.
- 3 mid-level providers and 7 audiologists.
- Call schedule is approximately 1 in 10, without facial trauma responsibilities.
Most of our physicians hold academic roles with the University of Washington and Washington State University, where medical students complete all four years of their education in Spokane. The starting salary is competitive, supplemented by a bonus program, and there is no state income tax. Comprehensive benefits are included, and partnership opportunities are available after one year of employment, typically occurring within two years.
About SpokaneLocated in Eastern Washington, Spokane serves as the medical hub for the inland northwest, with a metropolitan population of around 600,000 and a geographic catchment area of approximately 2 million. We receive referrals from a radius exceeding 200 miles. The cost of living is reasonable, especially when compared to larger metropolitan areas with similar-sized practices. Many of our physicians enjoy lakefront properties or homes near ski slopes, all within a 90-minute drive from downtown, offering access to world-class skiing, watersports, fishing, cycling, and hiking. Most of us have a short commute of about 10 minutes to our 30,000 sq ft downtown office, navigating through neighborhoods without highway congestion.
Application ProcessTo be considered for this position, please submit your curriculum vitae along with your application. We welcome both recent fellowship graduates and mid-career pediatric otolaryngologists. Candidates who are ready to begin within the next couple of years will be taken into account.
