Highlights

The Heart & Vascular Center in Macon, Georgia, a division of a renowned institute, offers a comprehensive and well-established cardiothoracic program. This center features multiple cardiac catheterization labs, state-of-the-art operating rooms, an electrophysiology lab, a CVICU, and a cardiac rehabilitation center. These services are delivered by a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team of cardiac anesthesiologists, perfusionists, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, and experienced support staff.

The cardiothoracic surgery team provides a wide array of services, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), thoracic aortic surgery, mitral valve repair, minimally invasive aortic valve replacement, Impella support, and ECMO. Our facility is a certified destination LVAD center and has an active TAVR program established in 2017. The program covers all aspects of thoracic surgery, excluding transplantation. New surgeons and recent graduates will benefit from a structured onboarding and training program in Charlotte, NC.

• Full-time position, 1.0 FTE
• 1:4 call shared among established partners, supported by surgically trained APPs
• Utilization of EPIC EMR
• Join an integrated, nationally recognized organization with a physician-led medical group and embedded service line
• Access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, enhancing clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review and signature
• Experience a diverse and inclusive environment that ensures safe and equitable care for all patients

Training and/or Experience Required

• Experience or interest in valve procedures preferred
• Board Eligible/Board Certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
• Active Georgia medical license or the ability to obtain one
