We are looking for a full-time psychiatrist (1.0 FTE) to join our dedicated team at Behavioral Health Services. This role offers a distinctive chance to engage with various levels of care, including:

  • Three days a week focused on the Comprehensive Addiction Psychiatry Service (CAPS) and the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), both situated at our Biddeford Main Street location.
  • Two days a week in a dual capacity, providing psychiatric support for the PHP and covering the CAPS Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
  • One day a week exclusively in the CAPS program, conducting IOP intakes, following up with patients, and managing a small caseload of CAPS clients.
  • Two days a week in outpatient care at either:
  • Biddeford Ambulatory Clinic on Springbrook Drive, or
  • Springvale Ambulatory Clinic, depending on the provider's preference.
About the Comprehensive Addiction Psychiatry Service (CAPS):

Located at our Biddeford Main Street facility, the PHP serves as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient care, providing an alternative for individuals needing more intensive treatment than standard outpatient visits. The program features:

  • A track focused on mental health stabilization
  • A track dedicated to substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring conditions
  • Structured group therapy aimed at emotional regulation, cognitive restructuring, and overall wellness
  • Personalized treatment planning with specific tracks and durations
  • A multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses
  • A focus on alleviating psychiatric symptoms and preventing the need for inpatient hospitalization
About Our Outpatient Clinics (Biddeford & Springvale):

Our ambulatory clinics in Biddeford (Springbrook Drive) and Springvale are essential parts of our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, ensuring prompt access to comprehensive and coordinated behavioral health services for individuals and families in York County. Both locations provide:

  • Outpatient psychiatry and medication management
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Specialized treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions
  • Case management and care coordination
  • Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team services
  • Trauma-informed, recovery-oriented methodologies
  • Telehealth and hybrid care options
Position Highlights:
  • Full-time, hybrid role encompassing CAPS, PHP, and outpatient settings
  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary care model
  • Opportunities for teaching, supervision, and academic collaboration with a medical school
  • Attractive compensation package along with comprehensive benefits
Qualifications:
  • MD or DO with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Maine
  • Experience or interest in addiction psychiatry, partial hospitalization, and integrated care is preferred
  • Strong dedication to collaborative, patient-centered care
