Academic Rank Open - Cardiac Anesthesiologist
Our organization, the only academic medical center and Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center in the Capital Region, is on the lookout for cardiac anesthesiologists to enhance our expanding adult Cardiac Anesthesia Division within the Department of Anesthesiology. This recruitment is prompted by the substantial growth of our adult open-heart program and our active structural heart services.
In this position, you will collaborate with a skilled and supportive team dedicated to providing care for a diverse range of cardiac surgical and interventional cardiology patients. You will have the chance to:
- Operate at the forefront of your specialty within a high-volume program that includes CABG, valve surgeries (including multi-valve operations), and aortic surgeries, alongside a busy structural heart program (TAVR, TMVR, TEER, and more).
- Engage in teaching and mentorship for cardiac anesthesia fellows, anesthesiology residents, SRNAs, and medical students.
- Participate in clinical and educational research with guidance from experienced mentors and institutional backing.
- Collaborate with esteemed cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, and intensivists in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Enjoy flexible staffing arrangements and part-time opportunities.
- Our Cardiac Anesthesia Service:
- Anticipates approximately 700 open cardiac surgical cases this year (up from 400 last year), in addition to over 1,200 structural heart cases.
- Utilizes advanced intraoperative echocardiography (all faculty are Advanced Perioperative TEE-certified).
- Operates in a dedicated cardiac OR block with specialized cardiac anesthesia support staff.
- Delivers perioperative care through a cardiac anesthesia care team model that prioritizes quality and safety.
Salary & Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary for the Assistant Professor range of $391,000-$411,000, with discussions for higher ranks following interviews. Compensation includes approximately $25,000 for cardiac pager call, with additional pay for call-ins. A generous sign-on bonus of up to $45,000, relocation assistance up to $7,500, and overtime opportunities for extra compensation are also available.
