Position Overview:
  • We are in search of a committed and highly qualified Gastroenterologist to become part of our team at the Tucson VA Medical Center. This role emphasizes comprehensive patient care and offers the chance to engage with the faculty at a prominent medical school. Our practice fosters a collaborative atmosphere, bringing together physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to deliver outstanding care to our Veterans. Candidates should be proficient in standard endoscopic procedures, with the possibility of performing advanced endoscopic techniques based on individual interests and expertise.

  • Our facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The GI service also provides remote care options through telehealth and video consultations, eliminating the need for medical subspecialists to travel to affiliated clinics.

  • There are numerous avenues for clinical research and opportunities to collaborate on various research initiatives.

Lifestyle and Work Schedule:

At the Tucson VA Medical Center, we prioritize work-life balance. The standard work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with minimal on-call duties. This structure allows ample time for personal and family commitments. On-call responsibilities are shared fairly among team members, ensuring a manageable workload and reducing the risk of burnout.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation Transparency: We believe in fostering trust through openness. The salary for this position ranges from $325,000 to $375,000 annually, contingent on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited medical or osteopathic program.

  • A current, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in all U.S. states.

  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is required.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are board certified or recently board eligible in gastroenterology.
