Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiologist Imager to enhance our Department of Cardiology.

We are a prominent academic medical center and a key regional hub for advanced structural heart disease, currently seeking a Level III trained cardiologist with specialization in Advanced Structural Echocardiography and Intraprocedural Guidance to join our well-established cardiovascular team.

This role presents a unique chance to become a vital part of our rapidly growing Structural Heart Program, where you will engage in a wide array of innovative transcatheter therapies within a highly collaborative academic setting.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with structural interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and imaging teams to deliver comprehensive imaging support throughout all stages of structural heart care, from pre-procedural planning to intraprocedural guidance in the cath lab and operating room, as well as post-procedural follow-up.

Position Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing advanced structural echocardiographic imaging, which includes:

  • Intraprocedural 2D/3D TEE guidance for:
  • TAVR, including leaflet modification techniques (BASILICA, UNICORN)
  • Mitral TEER
  • Transcatheter mitral valve replacement (including M3)
  • Tricuspid TEER
  • Tricuspid Replacement (Evoque)
  • Paravalvular leak closure
  • Left atrial appendage occlusion
  • Closure of ASD, VSD, PFO
  • Mechanical aspiration of intracardiac mass (AngioVac, AlphaVac)
  • Other advanced structural heart procedures
  • Additional duties will include:
  • Advanced echocardiography interpretation
  • Engagement in a multidisciplinary Structural Heart Team alongside Structural Interventional Cardiologists and Cardiothoracic Surgeons
  • Teaching fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Involvement in clinical research, trials, and program development
  • Leadership opportunities within the Echocardiography Laboratory for qualified individuals

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
  • Board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
  • Level III training in Echocardiography
  • Specialized training/expertise in Advanced Structural Cardiac Echocardiography and Intraprocedural Guidance
  • A strong passion for academic medicine, education, innovation, and clinical excellence
  • Experience in cardiac CT or multimodality imaging is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected Total Annual Compensation: $450,000 - $550,000

The listed compensation range pertains to the starting base salary and will be adjusted based on experience and/or faculty rank, ranging from $350,000 to $434,000. This figure includes variable compensation and is subject to the specific compensation plans of the department. Further details regarding compensation will be discussed during the recruitment process.
