Horizon House, a non-profit organization, has been widely recognized for its services as a provider of community-based behavioral health, intellectual disabled and homeless services in Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware. Each year, Horizon House provides a continuum of services at over 100 sites to over 4,5000 adults with psychiatric or developmental disabilities, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or homelessness. A pioneer in the field of community-based rehabilitation, Horizon House is widely recognized for its innovative approach to the delivery of services in a community setting. Currently, we are seeking a full time Program Director to join our Bucks County Developmental Services Division.#zrtc

Some duties to include:

  • To manage and supervise the operations and staff, at multiple assigned service sites, where Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) (for adults with cognitive impairment, mental health diagnoses and/or behavior issues) are delivered
  • To design and ensure the implementation of services to facilitate client's skill development and growth.
  • To promote continuous quality enhancement and growth of the programs assigned.
  • To provide necessary intervention and supports to enhance continuity of service.
  • To develop and monitor systems to ensure the quality of staff support and client services throughout the department.
  • To achieve and maintain compliance with applicable licensing standards; Provider Qualifications; ISPs; agency policies and to prepare/submit Plans of Correction (POC) for citations.
  • To operate assigned service sites, including staff salaries, within established budgets.
  • Build and maintain a high level of satisfaction by participants, families, staff and funding/licensing entities.
  • Bachelors degree, Master’s Degree preferred, in Human services, social sciences or health care or a related field and 3 - 5 years experience in I/DD field; at least 3-5 years prior supervisory experience or any combination of experience, education, and training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required and meet applicable funding source requirements.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Very good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must be available for local travel and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • May require crisis intervention in emergency situations.
  • May be required to work during emergencies including inclement weather.
  • 24 hour on-call pager coverage as assigned or needed.
  • May be required to attend training to become a certified agency investigator. May conduct investigations and participate in the agency rotation of on-call investigators. This requires carrying a beeper and responding to investigation hotline calls during on-call beeper coverage.
  • Ability to supervise and monitor the operation of assigned programs.
  • Ability to coordinate and monitor the daily operations of the program to ensure a safe, secure and pleasant environment during scheduled working hours.
  • Ability to develop and monitor the program on an ongoing basis through interaction with program activities and overall planning.
  • Ability to work in conjunction with the Director and assigned Human Resource Manager concerning recruitment, employment, training and performance of staff.
  • Ability to participate in training relevant to the position, to further promote staff professional growth and development.
