The BIM Specialist / Manager is a critical technical leadership role responsible for implementing, managing, and advancing Building Information Modeling standards and workflows across all project types and studio disciplines. This position bridges the gap between design intent and technical execution, ensuring our teams leverage BIM tools to their fullest potential while maintaining consistency, quality, and coordination throughout every phase of a project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BIM Standards & Implementation
- Develop, maintain, and enforce firm-wide BIM standards, templates, families, and content libraries in Revit
- Establish and monitor BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for all projects, ensuring alignment with client and contract requirements
- Define model structure, workset organization, phasing strategies, and file-naming conventions
- Lead quality control reviews of BIM models across project phases to ensure accuracy and coordination
Project Support & Coordination
- Serve as the primary BIM resource on complex, large-scale commercial and interior design projects
- Facilitate inter-discipline coordination and clash detection using Navisworks or equivalent software
- Collaborate with project teams on model-based quantity takeoffs, schedules, and drawing production
- Support consultant coordination, ensuring models are exchanged and federated efficiently
Training & Mentorship
- Develop and deliver ongoing BIM training programs for architectural and interior design staff at all skill levels
- Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support and mentorship to project teams
- Onboard new hires to firm BIM standards and workflows
Technology Strategy
- Evaluate and recommend emerging design technologies including computational design, AI-assisted tools, and digital fabrication integration
- Research, pilot, and implement new plugins, add-ins, and interoperability workflows (Dynamo, Enscape, Rhino/Grasshopper, etc.)
- Manage BIM-related software licensing, hardware recommendations, and vendor relationships in coordination with IT
- Stay current with industry standards including LOD specifications, IFC/open BIM protocols, and owner requirements
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain BIM guidelines documentation, internal knowledge base, and lessons-learned records
- Produce BIM progress reports for project leadership and clients as required
- Track and report on BIM productivity metrics and model quality KPIs
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in an architectural or interior design firm, with at least 2 years in a dedicated BIM leadership or management role
- Demonstrated experience on commercial projects
Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit required
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360 for model coordination and project management
- Proficiency in Navisworks Manage for clash detection and model federation
- Familiarity with parametric design tools such as Enscape, Dynamo or Grasshopper is highly desirable
- Experience with visualization tools (V-Ray, Lumion, or similar) a plus
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of IFC standards and open BIM workflows

- Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit is preferred
