Join our dynamic team as an Automotive Title Clerk, where you'll play a vital role in managing vehicle ownership documentation with precision and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to ensure the smooth processing of titles, registrations, and related paperwork, supporting our dealership’s commitment to excellent customer service. As an Automotive Title Clerk, you will be the key point of contact for title and registration activities, ensuring compliance with state regulations and maintaining meticulous records to facilitate seamless vehicle transactions.


Duties

  • Prepare, review, and process all vehicle titles, registrations, and related legal documents accurately and promptly.
  • Verify ownership details, lien information, and ensure all paperwork complies with state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate with sales teams, finance departments, and customers to gather necessary documentation for title transfers.
  • Maintain organized records of all title transactions, ensuring easy retrieval and audit readiness.
  • Assist in resolving any title discrepancies or issues that arise during the vehicle sale or registration process.
  • Stay updated on changing laws and regulations related to vehicle titles and registrations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with DMV offices, lienholders, and other external agencies to expedite processing times.


Requirements:

Proven experience in automotive dealership operations or title processing; dealership experience is highly preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail for handling legal documents.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and automotive repair processes is a plus.
  • Must have previous dealership license and title experience Knowledge of Illinois and out-of-state title procedures required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dealership environment Professional communication skills and positive attitude
  • Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds, CVR, and ATC preferred
