Leasing Specialist

The Leasing Specialist plays a crucial role in managing rental property operations, ensuring a positive experience for prospective and current tenants. This position focuses on marketing available units, screening applicants, and facilitating lease agreements to maintain high occupancy levels and tenant satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Market rental properties to attract potential tenants
• Conduct property tours and answer tenant inquiries
• Screen rental applications and verify tenant information
• Prepare and execute lease agreements
• Coordinate move-in and move-out procedures
• Maintain accurate leasing records and documentation
• Assist in resolving tenant issues and complaints
• Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams

• 2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.
• Experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Basic math and data-entry abilities for rent collection and recordkeeping.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required; COS or TCS certification desired or willingness to obtain.
