Senior SQL Developer
Costa Mesa, CA | Full-Time | Hybrid (1 day onsite per week required)

Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000 base salary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Developer with strong Python scripting experience within the healthcare industry. This role is focused heavily on healthcare analytics, claims data, EMR reporting, and data modeling — not data engineering.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience working with CMS programs, Value-Based Care environments, Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), CCLF claims data, and EMR datasets. This individual must be comfortable building complex SQL-based reporting solutions and partnering cross-functionally with business and clinical teams.

Important: This is a hybrid opportunity based in Costa Mesa, CA and requires onsite presence approximately 1 day per week. This is not a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform retrospective healthcare analytics related to LOS, readmissions, mortality, reimbursement, and operational performance
• Build and maintain end-to-end data models across clinical, claims, EMR, HIE, Salesforce, and external healthcare datasets
• Develop scalable, reusable, and efficient SQL code to support reporting and business initiatives
• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions within Power BI and related visualization tools
• Collaborate with operational, clinical, and technical teams to deliver reporting enhancements and analytical insights
• Ensure reporting accuracy, performance, responsiveness, and HIPAA compliance
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 6+ years of experience supporting MSSP / Value-Based Care environments
• Strong expertise with CCLF claims data and EMR data structures
• Advanced SQL development experience and strong Python scripting capabilities
• Experience with Power BI and healthcare-focused reporting environments
• Experience working with Azure, SQL Server, MySQL, or related database technologies
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, CMS programs, and reporting standards
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work onsite in Costa Mesa approximately 1 day per week

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of CMS and Value-Based Care programs including MSSP
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR)
• Exposure to DevOps tools and environments including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitHub
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Interest or exposure to AI/LLM technologies within healthcare analytics environments
