The Department of Medicine at our organization is in search of a full-time Academic Nephrologist (Assistant or Associate Professor) to become a part of our Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. This role presents a chance to engage in the comprehensive practice of nephrology within a collaborative and academically stimulating setting.

Established in 1839, our institution is among the oldest private medical schools in the nation and functions as the sole academic tertiary care center in the Capital Region of New York.

Position Overview:
  • Deliver inpatient consultation and educational services.

  • Engage in renal transplant services.

  • Provide outpatient care for hemodialysis patients.

  • Manage a hypertension referral clinic.

  • Oversee a comprehensive outpatient program for chronic kidney disease.

  • Participate in a vibrant academic environment with opportunities to educate medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • Engage in or develop clinical and/or translational research initiatives.

  • Work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary care framework alongside APPs, nurses, and support personnel.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.

  • Proven clinical proficiency in nephrology subspecialty care.

  • A strong dedication to medical education and mentorship.

  • Interest or experience in clinical research is highly preferred.

  • Eligibility for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

  • Qualification for medical licensure in New York State.

  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse populations.
