Our organization is in search of a full-time, board-certified Hematologist/Oncologist to provide care for our veteran community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for clinical practice and education, holding board certification in Hematology/Oncology. The responsibilities of the selected physician will encompass, but are not limited to, conducting patient histories and physical examinations, diagnosing conditions, managing treatment plans, handling emergencies, providing consultations, utilizing specialty skills, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Hematologist/Oncologist is expected to uphold high standards of patient care and demonstrate proficiency in various related procedures. Located in Oklahoma City, OK, our facility serves as the "Flagship" for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System, recognized as a Joint Commission accredited, referral level 1b (medium complexity) institution. The Hematology/Oncology department caters to both inpatient and outpatient needs for over 70,000 veterans across 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, from 08:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

  • Preference is given to U.S. Citizens; non-U.S. Citizens may also be considered.
  • A current, full, and unrestricted medical or surgical license to practice in the U.S. is required.
  • Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology is necessary, although Board Eligibility may be considered. Additional certification in Internal Medicine is preferred.

Compensation

The starting salary ranges from $350,000 to $400,000 annually.

  • A recruitment incentive will be provided, with the potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000.
  • Retirement benefits include the Federal Retirement Plan through the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), which consists of three tiers: 1) Social Security benefits; 2) FERS-FRAE basic benefits (pension); and 3) Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), a 401K-type plan with up to 5% government matching contributions.
  • Eligibility for the Education Debt Repayment Program (EDRP).
  • Malpractice coverage includes free liability protection with tail coverage.
  • Recruitment and relocation incentives are available.
  • Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50-55 days of paid leave annually, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a possible 5-day paid absence for Continuing Medical Education (CME).
  • Insurance options include federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care, with many federal insurance programs transferable into retirement.
  • Licensure: One full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory is required.
  • CME reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year is available (must be full-time with board certification).
  • No Physician Employment Contract is required, and there are no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
