Many of our physicians are involved in the education of residents, fellows, and medical students. The medical school offers a unique six-year combined baccalaureate and Doctor of Medicine program, accepting students directly from high school. Position Overview

Full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible OB/GYN Hospitalist

We are currently seeking a full-time Hospitalist to join our University Health Women's Care (UHWC) team in Lee's Summit, Missouri, with practice at the nearby University Health - Lakewood Medical Center. The UHWC offers the advantages of academic medicine in a primarily non-teaching environment. The ideal candidate will be a BC/BE OB/GYN physician who excels in providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care within a hospital setting.

The UHWC team includes five certified Nurse Midwives, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon, and a gynecologic oncologist.

The OB/GYN Hospitalist will deliver full-spectrum inpatient and emergency OB & GYN care at the University Health - Lakewood Medical Center campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient care effectively.

  • Oversee Antepartum and Postpartum patient care.

  • Provide coverage for GYN inpatients and emergency surgical interventions for gynecologic patients presenting through the emergency department.

  • Act as a clinical resource for Labor & Delivery staff, including routine patient assessments and triage.

  • Offer consultation services to the Community and Family Medicine departments.

Compensation and academic appointment will be aligned with the candidate's experience and qualifications.

  • The Department boasts a robust team of specialist faculty committed to evidence-based practices and exceptional resident education.

  • Comprehensive support from sub-specialists, including maternal-fetal medicine physicians, urogynecologists, and gynecological oncologists, is readily available.

  • Our physicians provide backup for the midwifery practice and offer consultation services to the Community and Family Medicine Department.

  • They also instruct and supervise Family Medicine Advanced Obstetrical Fellows in Cesarean Section training.
