Job Opportunity: Part-Time Pediatrician in Adolescent Medicine

Our organization is currently looking for a part-time pediatrician, specifically trained in Adolescent Medicine, to join the dynamic Department of Pediatrics at Queens Hospital Center in Jamaica, New York. This position requires a commitment of three days per week and is available for immediate hiring.

Queens Hospital Center is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals public hospital system, situated in one of New York's most culturally diverse neighborhoods. The Department of Pediatrics features a bustling Ambulatory Pediatric Service that includes numerous innovative primary care initiatives, such as:

  • Integrated behavioral health services
  • Preventive dentistry programs
  • Pediatric Healthy Lifestyles Program
  • Healthy Steps initiative
  • Reach Out & Read program
  • Centering and Video Interaction Project
  • A Center for Child Development
  • A Level III NICU and a Mother-Baby Unit with over 1,300 deliveries annually

The hospital has held a Baby Friendly designation since Spring 2014.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Chief of Adolescent Medicine to develop patient-centered services focusing on healthy lifestyles, pre-conception health, reproductive health, and behavioral health.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive pediatric primary care that fosters health and wellness throughout the lifespan.
  • Offer long-acting reversible contraception as part of adolescent services.
  • Participate in program development and academic growth opportunities, including teaching students and adult primary care residents.

Our organization is a designated Health Manpower Shortage Area for Primary Care, which allows participation in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. The hospital is conveniently accessible via public transportation and by car from various locations across New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics.
  • A valid medical license in New York State and a DEA registration are required.

This position includes a faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, which will be aligned with the candidate's credentials, experience, and qualifications. Compensation will be prorated based on a full-time salary range of $205,000 to $210,000.
