Advanced Gastroenterologist (ERCP/EUS)

Location: Hagerstown, MD

Position Overview
  • Specialized role in Advanced Gastroenterology with a focus on ERCP and EUS.

Clinical Responsibilities

This advanced position emphasizes intricate gastroenterology procedures and patient care:

Advanced Procedural Services
  • ERCP (both diagnostic and therapeutic).

  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) - potential to initiate and develop the program.

  • Advanced endoscopy performed in hospital, ASC, and OR settings.

  • Complex GI interventions and cancer staging procedures.

Outpatient & Inpatient Services
  • 2.5 days per week dedicated to outpatient clinic work.

  • Inpatient consultations and procedures.

  • Collaboration with a strong existing general GI team.

Patient Demographics

Care for adult patients requiring advanced GI interventions, including:

  • Pancreaticobiliary disorders.

  • Complex issues related to bile ducts and pancreas.

  • GI cancers (staging and management).

  • Therapeutic procedures for strictures, stones, and leaks.

  • Challenging esophageal, gastric, and colonic conditions.

Clinical Volume Expectations
  • High demand for procedures with immediate ramp-up potential.

  • Combination of advanced procedures, clinic visits, and inpatient consultations.

  • Strong referral network from general GI and community healthcare providers.

Academic & Faculty Engagement
  • Teaching roles available with the upcoming medical school (launching Summer 2025).

  • Involvement in new residency programs currently in development.

Work Schedule & Call Duties
  • 2.5 days in clinic and 2.5 days for procedures each week.
