STAFF PATHOLOGISTLOCATION: WEST ROXBURY, MA

The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at our organization, comprised of a dedicated team of 10 skilled pathologists, is seeking a full-time staff pathologist. Candidates must be Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology. Our outpatient phlebotomy facilities are located in West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Brockton, and Bedford, MA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology services.
  • Conduct case reviews and report findings.
  • Attend and contribute to principal tumor boards.
  • Engage in teaching, research, and clinical activities in collaboration with academic partners such as Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston University School of Medicine, and Harvard Medical School.
  • Opportunity for an academic appointment at one of the affiliates based on experience.

Our service conducts over 3,000,000 tests annually and holds accreditation from the College of American Pathologists, the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Anatomic Pathology Division processes around 10,000 surgical pathology specimens and 7,000 cytology specimens each year. Additionally, we offer specialized reference laboratory tests to seven other locations within New England's Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 1), including services in Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, and Hematopathology. We also provide Quality Management, Informatics, and Telepathology support for the entire VISN 1 laboratory network.

Qualifications:
  • Must hold a full, active, and unrestricted medical license in any US state or territory.
  • US Citizenship is mandatory.
