Position Overview

Our organization is in search of a talented and committed Interventional Radiologist to become a part of our Radiology Department, primarily serving at MelroseWakefield Hospital. This full-time role presents a distinctive chance to work within a vibrant community hospital while enjoying a robust academic partnership with our main medical center in Boston.

The perfect candidate will possess expertise in a wide array of interventional radiology techniques and demonstrate a passion for delivering exceptional, patient-focused care in a community setting. Responsibilities will encompass procedural tasks, diagnostic imaging, consultations for both inpatients and outpatients, as well as opportunities for teaching, collaboration, and professional growth through our academic network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a variety of interventional procedures, including vascular access, biopsies, drainages, embolizations, and other minimally invasive treatments within a community hospital framework.
  • Analyze diagnostic imaging studies to facilitate safe and effective procedural planning.
  • Offer inpatient and outpatient interventional radiology consultations, assess patients before and after procedures, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Work closely with local healthcare teams at MelroseWakefield Hospital, including surgery, emergency medicine, oncology, and primary care.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary meetings, rounds, and case evaluations to promote coordinated, high-quality patient care.
  • Provide comprehensive patient education regarding procedures, expectations, and follow-up care.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and contribute to the ongoing development of community-based interventional radiology programs.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with faculty from our main medical center, with optional involvement in academic activities, teaching, and research based on personal interest.
  • Ensure meticulous and accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital and system standards.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology, with fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.
  • Strong procedural and diagnostic capabilities suited for a community hospital environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously while excelling in a collaborative, team-oriented setting.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and patient care abilities.
  • Dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care to a diverse patient demographic.
  • Interest in engaging in academic or educational initiatives through our main medical center is encouraged but not mandatory.

Academic rank and salary will be aligned with qualifications and experience.

Compensation

The annual salary for this position ranges from $425,000.00 to $450,000.00. Actual compensation will be established during the selection process and will take into account various factors, including relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
