We are seeking a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician to join our organization, which excels in providing comprehensive palliative and hospice care. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a panel of around 20 patients, focusing on symptom management, care planning, and family involvement.

  • Engage in interdisciplinary team activities within the hospital, including rounding, documentation, and care coordination.

  • Provide consultations and support for both inpatient and outpatient palliative care requirements.

  • Contribute to program growth initiatives, potentially taking on leadership roles in quality and educational development.

  • Address urgent clinical situations and engage in complex discussions with patients and their families.

  • Support ongoing quality improvement efforts and clinical innovation by participating in relevant committees.

  • Assist in mentoring and training junior staff and learners, promoting a culture of excellence and compassion.

Qualifications:
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.

  • Current license to practice in New York State and certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Practice, or equivalent training.

  • Proficiency in caring for patients with advanced cancer and complex palliative needs.

  • Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on compassionate patient interactions.

  • Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

  • COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged before the start date.
