We are seeking a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician to join our organization, which excels in providing comprehensive palliative and hospice care. Key Responsibilities:Oversee a panel of around 20 patients, focusing on symptom management, care planning, and family involvement.
Engage in interdisciplinary team activities within the hospital, including rounding, documentation, and care coordination.
Provide consultations and support for both inpatient and outpatient palliative care requirements.
Contribute to program growth initiatives, potentially taking on leadership roles in quality and educational development.
Address urgent clinical situations and engage in complex discussions with patients and their families.
Support ongoing quality improvement efforts and clinical innovation by participating in relevant committees.
Assist in mentoring and training junior staff and learners, promoting a culture of excellence and compassion.
Medical degree from an accredited institution.
Current license to practice in New York State and certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Practice, or equivalent training.
Proficiency in caring for patients with advanced cancer and complex palliative needs.
Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on compassionate patient interactions.
Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
