We are currently seeking applications to join our Pre-Operative Medicine team located in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to deliver high-quality, comprehensive care, particularly in assessing complex patients with various co-morbidities. Strong clinical and interpersonal skills are essential, and a keen interest in leadership roles is preferred. Our pre-operative medicine clinics are situated at the Kaiser Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers, and flexibility to support both locations is required. In this position, you will cater to a diverse patient population and may also assist with the multi-disciplinary Senior Surgical Care Program.

What You Can Expect:
  • Our Pre-Operative Medicine Team offers thorough outpatient medical evaluations and consultations for patients with complex needs scheduled for surgery.
  • The team collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, primary care providers, and consultants to ensure coordinated care prior to surgical procedures.
  • Evaluations include comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations, ordering necessary labs and imaging, interpreting results, and assessing whether patients are medically prepared for surgery.
  • Support from an experienced staff.
  • Access to a user-friendly advanced Epic EMR system.
  • Opportunities for leadership roles within the medical group, if desired.
  • Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
  • No on-call duties required.
  • Full-time schedule at 1.0 FTE.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine or a related Medicine sub-specialty.
  • Geriatric fellowship training is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Internal Medicine or a related Medicine sub-specialty is recommended.

Current hiring incentives for this role:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $244,100 to $274,700, taking into account the applicant's skills, qualifications, relevant degrees and certifications, training, market data, and other pertinent factors. In addition to the salary range, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that significantly enhances the overall compensation.
